Fall & Winter Sensitive Skin Relief

As the temperatures drop and the leaves start to fall many of us are enjoying the break in humidity and the crisp autumn air.   Unfortunately not all of us are enjoying the weather change.   Fall and winter are historically dry.  The lack of moisture in the air causes our skin to flake and become easily irritated.

There are a few things you can do to reduce the effects.

1.  Avoid Caffeine – as difficult as it may be if you can switch to decaf in the a.m. it will help with dry skin.   Caffeine & Salt are both known for pulling moisture out of the skin when taken internally – Note – Caffeine applied topically does not have this affect.

2.  Add Fish to your diet -The famous clam bakes in October – Join them!  Seafood (especially salmon and oysters) are high in Omega 3’s

3.  Flax Seed – Flax Seed oil is great to cook with and when taken internally helps to balance out your skin, which combats dryness and irritation.

4.  Pasture-Raised Eggs (of course!) – Fresh, pasture-raised eggs are one of the best sources of omega 3’s, antioxidants and key vitamins.    Eating an egg a day will protect your skin from the inside.

Topical Solutions

Do you struggle to find skincare products that don’t irritate your sensitive skin? Many commercial skincare products that claim they’re designed for people with sensitive skin are still full of chemicals and fragrances, leading to red, itchy, dry skin. Our neem and honey skin saver is 100% natural and fragrance free, making it perfect for those with sensitive skin.

This lotion combines shea, & cocoa  butters with Avocado & a touch of Neem oil.   The Neem tree, which is the origin of neem oil, has been used in India medicinally and for beauty purposes dating back to ancient times.  Neem oil helps relieve dry skin, soothes irritations, and improves overall skin health. Additionally, it has high levels of antioxidants, helping to restore your skin.

Add to that a touch of goat milk, egg yolk, which we gather from our own free-range chickens, and honey for a healing, deeply penetrating lotion that soothes and protects your skin. Egg yolk has several key nutrients, including protein and Vitamin A, which promote healthy skin.

Honey also does wonders for the skin. It is naturally antibacterial and full of antioxidants, which helps your skin heal and prevents further damage. Honey is also moisturizing, helping soothe even the driest of skin. Combining all of these natural, soothing ingredients in one lotion creates a unique combination that is guaranteed to soothe, protect, and make your skin glow!
